Since 1999, the Maryland Heritage Areas Authority has award more than $2.7 million to fund programming, capital, and non-capital projects within the heritage area. Projects funded include the fabrication of museum exhibits, the preservation of the wooden deck on a historic ship, resource guides for educators, websites, trail maps, and interpretive signage. Additionally, the heritage area receives a management grant to assist with its operations.
