About Us BHAA Small Capital Grants 2014 Small Cap Grant Report
Since 2004, the City of Baltimore has invested in its cultural, historic, and natural resources through a capital grant program. Managed by the Baltimore National Heritage Area (and its predecessor, the Baltimore City Heritage Area), the Small Capital Grant Program awards small, but strategic, investments in structural improvements. The types of projects supported are as diverse as the city itself; over the years locomotives have been restored, neighborhood parks rehabilitated, masonry repaired, and wayside signage installed. More than $1.2 million has been invested in improving Baltimore’s museums, cultural attractions, nature trails, and historic buildings.
More information about the grant program and its accomplishments can be found in the 2014 Report on the Small Capital Grant Program: A Decade of Strategic Investments in Baltimore's Heritage Tourism Community (PDF).
