BNHA launched the Heritage Investment Grant program  in 2014. The first set of award recipients was announced in March 2015. 

 


2017 GRANT AWARDS ($100,800 for twelve projects)

  • Baltimore Architecture Foundation (Expand the Doors Open Program - Developing a Model for Maryland) - $10,000
  • Baltimore Heritage, Inc. (Baltimore Legacy Business Project) - $3,500
  • Baltimore Museum of Industry  (Update and Refresh the BMI Communications Exhibition) - $10,000
  • Baltimore Operational Sail (Social Media Program to Increase Visitorship to Visiting Ships) - $5,000
  • Baltimore Streetcar Museum (Mapping a New Route for the Museum Project) - $5,000
  • Friends of Patterson Park (Connecting Patterson Park Events to History) - $7,300
  • Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance (Creating Spaces: Performing Artists in Sacred & Historical Places) - $10,000
  • The Peale Center for Baltimore History and Architecture (Be Here - Baltimore Project) - $10,000
  • Poe House and Museum (Poe to Print Project) - $10,000
  • Port Discovery/Baltimore’s Children’s Museum (Port of Baltimore Exhibit) - $10,000
  • Walters Art Museum (Reinstalling One West Mount Vernon Place) - $10,000

  • Lillie Carroll Jackson Civil Rights Museum (Operating Support) - $10,000

  • Baltimore Streetcar Museum (Museum Exhibition Upgrade; Development of Curatorial Plan and Exhibition Content) – $9,000
  • Carroll Museums (New Core Exhibit) – $14,000
  • Chesapeake Conservancy (Brochure: The Harbor Trail: Creating Connections to the John Smith Chesapeake National Historic Trail in Baltimore) – $5,000
  • Chesapeake Shakespeare Company (Mercantile Building Historic Exhibit) – $7,000
  • Friends of Gwynns Falls and Leakin Park (Gwynns Falls/Leakin Park Visitor Center Planning for Interpretation and Visitor Experience) – $15,000
  • Maryland Military Historical Society (African American Military History Exhibit) – $10,000
  • McKim Community Association (Print Materials to Interpret McKim's History for Visitors to its Historic Buildings) – $4,200
  • Waverly Main Street (Waverly Main Street Streetscape Planning and Design Project) – $15,000
